WhatsApp is slowly becoming an essential Smartphone App for Android and IOS users alike. This is due to the fact that it has twisted from just a regular Instant Messaging (IM) app to an essential chat, audio and video solution for Smartphone holders.

But the more WhatsApp ships new features to its platform with the latest being full dark mode support for both Android and IOS. It’s the more, accessing these features becomes a slightly complicated tale.

However, among the WhatsApp features you should be using include styling your texts in an appealing way you would achieve while using a word processing program like Microsoft Word or Libre Writer.

WhatsApp currently supports 4 styles: Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Monospace, and here is how you can use them to style your next WhatsApp message.

Bold

To bold your message, place an asterisk on both sides of the text:

To italicize your message, place an underscore on both sides of the text:

The easier way to style your WhatsApp messages

On Android

Select the text you would like to style, on the list of pop up options (cut, copy, paste, select all), tap more (three dots option) to get a list available style options (Bold, Italic, strikethrough and monospace)

On IOS (iPhone)

Select the text you wish to style, then choose from the list of pop up options Select or Select All > B_I_U. Then, choose BoldItalicStrikethrough, or Monospace to apply the style to your WhatsApp chat text.
