MTN Kabode Supa VS Airtel 4G Smartphone is a showdown of a buy-on loan and buy-on cash comparison. The MTN Kabode Supa is a credit smartphone that you can buy in installments of about 6 months. On the other hand, the Airtel 4G Smartphone is a pay-on-cash smartphone that costs UGX 150,000 discounted from UGX 250,000.

Each of the smartphones cost UGX 250,000 if no promotional offer is running. But, the Airtel 4G smartphone now follows a trajectory that has set its price at UGX 150,000 with attractive specifications.

In comparison, you are required to pay UGX 49,000 for the MTN Kabode Supa smartphone as an initial deposit, then, clear the balance in 6 months which sets your total pay at UGX 250,000, versus the Airtel 4G Smartphone that now trails at UGX 150,000.

As a fact, the MTN Kabode Supa has no official images versus the Airtel 4G Smartphone which has its real images with the Benco branding displayed on its marketing items. What’s used on the MTN Kabode Supa marketing items are images of the original MTN Kabode that was first shipped before an upgrade with the Supa tagline. The actual MTN Kabode Supa is an ITEL AC250 smartphone.

TO DATE: The MTN Kabode Supa uses the original MTN Kabode graphics on its promotional items

By specifications, the ITEL AC250 (MTN Kabode Supa) is comparable to the Airtel 4G Smartphone and both smartphones boast with 4G connectivity. However, the difference majorly reflects in the battery capacity with the Kabode Supa borrowing ITEL’s big battery prowess at 2050mAh, and the Airtel 4G smartphone bowing with a 1800mAh capacity.

Specification

MTN Kabode Supa

Airtel 4G Smartphone

Processor

1.4Ghz MediaTek Chipset

Quadcore MediaTek Chipset

Screen

5 Inches

4.5 Inch Screen

Operating System

Android 8 (Go edition)

Android 8.1

SIM

Dual SIM

Dual SIM

Network Support

2G, 3G, 4G LTE

2G, 3G, 4G LTE

Internal Memory

8GB

8GB

RAM

1GB

1GB

Front Camera

2MP

2MP

Rear Camera

5MP

5MP with dual LED flash

Battery

2050mAh removable

1800mAh

MTN Kabode Supa VS The Airtel 4G Smartphone

Both devices come with Free MTN Data for the MTN Kabode Supa and free Airtel Data for the Airtel 4G Smartphone redeemable once you purchase the smartphone. Optionally, you can buy 1 year of internet access at UGX 86,500 for the Airtel 4G Smartphone.

Verdict: MTN Kabode Supa Vs Airtel 4G Smartphone, the device you should buy

The Airtel 4G smarphone feature a quad-core processor with 1GB RAM comparable

Based on our findings about both the MTN Kabode Supa and the Airtel 4G Smartphone, both devices are only good for users switching from feature phones to a smartphone for the first time. However, if you have used serious mid-range or high-range devices, you will find both devices extremely disappointing and slow.

However, in our view, the Airtel 4G Smartphone is the best smartphone you can buy since it has no hidden costs that are often overcharged in the buy-on-loan schemes, and the real product images are used in its marketing item, unlike the MTN Kabode Supa that uses images of the old MTN Kabode.

More so, to buy the MTN Kabode Supa, you have to go through the full process of filling in the pay mpola mpola forms versus the Airtel 4G Smartphone which you can use as fast as you hand over the money at your nearest Airtel service center.

The Airtel 4G Smartphone codenamed ‘My first 4G Smartphone’ is the most affordable LTE-flavored entry-level release that was first unveiled in 2018. Trolling through the years, the Airtel 4G Smartphone has been renewed with a newer model currently available in the telco’s service centers.

Given the fact that Smartphone trends continue to shift designs year after year, buying the Airtel 4G Smartphone offer could be a good choice given its improvements similar to other 2023 entry-level releases such as the MTN Kabode Supa.

By impressions, the device ships a total of dual camera setup consisting of 1 Rear camera, and 1 Front selfie camera. On top of that, a high bezels 4.5 Inch Screen rules the front with a lineup of entry-level internals detailed on its Specifications sheet.

Airtel 4G Smartphone Specifications

Processor:

Quadcore MediaTek Chipset

Operating System:

Android 8.1

Network:

2G/3G/4G

Display:

4.5 Inch Screen

Rear Camera:

5MP with dual-LED flash

Front Camera:

2MP

Storage:

8GB expandable to 32GB via MicroSD card

RAM:

1GB

Battery:

1800mAh

Available Colors:

Black

Price

UGX 150,000

Airtel 4G Smartphone Specs

Should you buy the Cheapest 4G Smartphone from Airtel?

Based on the current features equipped by most low-range smartphones, Airtel’s 4G Smartphone is not a perfect companion to buy in 2023. But with 4G LTE supported mounted to the smartphone, then it’s one of the best entry-level companions you can consider.

Currently, the latest low-range smartphone in Uganda is the Itel P38. By display, the device sports a waterdrop notch aboard a 6-inch Screen with lesser bezels to its design. On top of that, a non-removable 5000mAh battery powers the device.

But with a top flare of features making it a close to midrange release with a UGX 299,000 price tag, the Airtel 4G Smartphone then beats it by price and 4G support.

Likely, the base P38 supports 2G/3G straight out of the box. For 4G connectivity, a Pro version shines in check at a hyped price of UGX 399,000 contrary to UGX 200,000 for Airtel’s device offer.

Other releases like the Realme C3, Nokia C2/C3 equip 4G connectivity, but come at a higher price range between UGX 300,000 and UGX 350,000.

Hence, with the Airtel 4G Smartphone retailing for as low as UGX 200,000, it’s a better choice if you’re upgrading from a feature phone to the smartphone legion.

All in All, depending on your purchase intent, the Airtel 4G Smartphone could be you best choice by price. But if you closely consider having the latest catchy features, then roaming through a list of budget-friendly releases could land you a better smartphone.

The Airtel 4G smartphone is one abrupt release that has had many customers wondering whether the 4G offer is truly worth it. We decided to take an extra mile and find out if this King Saha hyped device is really one of the cheapest offers in Uganda. While the 4G powered smartphone is available at only 200,000/=. Airtel shops are the only authorized outlets for this particular phone.

With service providers like MTN that offered a whole range of discounted phones during its expo intuition trying to beef up the competition. News thirst telcos like Africell and smart land favorable rates with their mobile money services making a bargain streak worth to survive for. However, the Airtel 4G smartphone is powerful to its name 3G/4G bands outselling it as one of the best devices you can own before black Friday. And to the same network point, let’s find out what the 4G phone truly has to offer.

Airtel 4G smartphone specifications

Network: 2G/3G/4G Dual Sim

Camera: 2MP Front + 5MP Rear

Storage: 8GB internal memory (Expandable to 32GB), 1GB RAM

Performance: MediaTek powered Quad-Core processor

Battery: 1800mAh

Display: 4.5 Inch screen

Box contents: battery, USB charger, USB cable, headsets

Price and where to buy from

Now here is the thing, For only UGX 200,000 rounding off to $53 you get a brand new Airtel 4G smartphone fully loaded with free 5Gb monthly data for a quarter summing up to 15Gb. However, you can only get yourself a brand new device from any Airtel shop countrywide, If not OLX (now Jiji) could be a better online marketplace for a used version or Jumia for a new one as well.

To buy or trash? Our Verdict

We’ve not received or purchased a copy of the Airtel 4G smartphone yet, but when we do, we shall have enough time to unleash the beat mode of this high rated smartphone. However, If you’re looking for that top feature smartphone but still have a cartoon budget, the Airtel 4G smartphone is the best option for you.

But if you’re looking for simply a cheap smartphone to own, you could opt for an MTN Fero or Kafit just in case you can’t afford the 200,000/= 4G powered smartphone. Nonetheless, with ballistic speed promised on the Airtel 4G smartphone, we think its time everyone owns a 4G smartphone without spending hundreds of dollars on a high-end version.

Airtel 4G is one network band many customers have opted to dive through. Today, the red network has unveiled the next big thing in smartphones at only UGX 200,000 and It’s powered by the 4G network bands. During the launch today at the Airtel Headquarters, local brand ambassadors were chosen to promote this very affordable smartphone headlined by King Saha.

The Airtel 4G smartphone is a key on specifications yet lightning fast smartphone ranking up towards the Itel S13 heights with similar features. Commenting about the new phone, the Airtel Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Amit Kapur expressed excitement at the opportunities that an affordable smartphone will bring to subscribers as he further praised the superfast 4G internet speeds by the telecom in a statement below.

Airtel has the largest 4G network in Uganda with high speeds and most importantly at affordable rates. My First 4G Smartphone offers a complete package to include a 4G phone, data, quality network and SIM Card to the convenience of the user

Airtel’s 4G smartphone free data and purchase benefits

Unlike the usual retailed smartphones, Airtel’s 4G phone comes with a free 4G SIM card, one-year warranty plus an offer of 200 SMS Airtel to Airtel, 200 MBs, 30 Minutes Airtel to Airtel calls and UGX 500 worth of Airtime on registration. In addition, the Airtel 4G smartphone comes with 15GB of data worth UGX 90,000 valid for 90 days.

Although the smartphone comes with 15Gb of data, It’s subdivided into 5GB per month. More so, with exclusive features, we’re excited to see another cheap smartphone introduced on the market similar to MTN’s 20 year Expo discounted offers. Additionally, the specs seem sweet and let’s break them down for you in a simple crumbled way.

Specifications:
– Dual SIM with SIM 1 locked to Airtel with 4G capability
– Storage: ROM and RAM of 8GB and 1GB respectively
– Screen Size: 4.5 Inch
– Camera: 2MP + 5MP
– Battery: 1800MAh
– Flashlight, Wi-Fi, FM, and Bluetooth: Yes
– Accessories: one battery, one USB charger, one USB cable (micro 5pin) and one headset (3.5mm)

With the specifications aside, several customers always lie on the opposite side of the coin. While rafting a complaint about the phone on the Airtel Uganda facebook page. One customer stated that Airtel’s 4G phone is not worth his wishlist.

Geofrey Amunyuku: Expectations of that phone
Battery – 2000mAh
Internal Memory – 8GB
RAM – 512MB
SD Card – support up-to 16GB

What I want
Battery – 5000mAh
Internal Memory – at least 16GB
RAM – at least 2GB
SD Card – support up to 128GB

Nonetheless, once we get a copy of the Airtel 4G smartphone. We shall definitely dive into a deep features review to bring to book whether the cheapest 4G smartphone so far is worth to buy or not. However, chances are it’s really worth its price tag of UGX 200,000, Or else what do you think? share with us in the comments section below.
