A Recycle bin on Android 12 could be on its way as Google plans to add the feature as a new way of helping Android users clear storage space or recover accidentally deleted files. The feature was first spotted in December last year, and the Android XDA-Developers forum inked that Google files could get a trash folder that stores deleted files.

Now, all signals show that a recycle bin on Android 12 is a possibility users can get ready to use once the operating system is launched. As per leaked screenshots, the new recycle bin (trash bin) on Android 12 will be hosted under storage settings to make it easy for users to choose trash once they opt to free space or change any storage settings.

At the moment, the feature only allows you to view recently deleted files and permanently delete them. But with future previews and beta updates, the feature is expected to be detailed with the ability to choose between recovering or permanently deleting files in the trash bin.

A report by XDA’s Mishaal Rahman suggests that the recycle bin on Android 12 may not be of the same standard as that on desktop operating systems like the Windows recycle bin. Instead, it may simply have a trash folder where you can locate a number of files recently deleted from your phone and options to recover or delete them.

For now, a recycle bin on Android 12 could be coming soon as a safer way to clear junk in your smartphone, and ditch recycle bin apps available on the Google Playstore. Even when the trash bin may be hosted under Settings->Storage, it will be a great feature to note in the upcoming Android 12 beta builds.

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) recently issued a strong letter to Google Inc–– the mother company of Youtube to block all Bobi Wine centric channels on the platform. The signed letter comes months after UCC summoned all Social media brand owners to register and obtain licenses earlier in September this year.

Well, just like the license directive expired with fewer registrations garnered from the target channel owners, the communication authority decided to write a letter directing Google to block all Youtube channels Live broadcasting Police violence on civilians and presidential aspirant Bobi Wine.

Prior to receiving the letter which included a list of 17 Youtube Channels, Google has responded to the commission’s request and refused to block the stated channels unless an official court order is produced with specific videos violating community guidelines – as reported by the Independent.

According to the UCC letter, platforms and networks like Youtube are being used to publish, disseminate, and broadcast content contrary to the Uganda Communications Act of 2013 and regulation 8(2) of the Uganda Communications (Content) regulations of 2019.

Furthermore, broadcasted Youtube content on the channels contains extremist or anarchic messages likely to incite violence against sections of the public on account of their tribe and political opinions –– the letter further read, with a list of violating Youtube channels which include:

Ghetto TV

Map Mediya TV

Namungo Media

Busesa Media Updates

Uganda Empya

KK TV Uganda

Ekyooto TV

Bobi Wine 2021

JB Muwonge

Among others.

In reply, Google has mentioned that listed channels haven’t violated any Youtube Community Standards at the moment, and so, blocking them on the platform would require a court order together with proof of violation as requested by UCC without prior evidence.

Google’s Dorothy Ooko on why Google can’t block Youtube Channels in Uganda. COURTESY IMAGE

” It is very hard to just have a channel removed due to a government request. We always follow local law, but it would have to be a valid court order. The letters just show what the UCC submitted to the Embassy; they are not court orders “
Said Dorothy Ooko –– Head of Google Communications in Africa

Conditions under which Youtube can block a Channel

As per Youtube community content guidelines, the platform doesn’t allow pornography, incitement to violence, hate speech, and harassment. To detect violations, the video hosting platform relies on people and technology to flag inappropriate content and enforce its listed guidelines.

Additionally, a Youtube Channel may only be terminated (blocked and removed) if it receives 3 warnings in a 90day timeframe, or has a single severe case of abuse, or it’s determined to be fully dedicated to violating the platform’s set guidelines.

“Flags can come from our automated flagging systems, from members of the Trusted Flagger program (NGOs, government agencies, and individuals) or from users in the broader YouTube community,”
The Youtube Community guidelines page reads

Hence, the only way UCC can succeed in influencing the removal of all listed Youtube channels broadcasting Presidential Candidate Bobi Wine’s campaign trail in Uganda is through acquiring a Court order to be submitted to Google for immediate removal of all violating channels.

Otherwise, as per the political atmosphere in Uganda where mainstream media has become a yesterday norm due to high restrictions mounted by UCC, online media channels continue to be major sources of information for most Netizens due to their Live streaming mode of execution.

So, UCC’s plan to regulate online media TVs seems to be more difficult than anticipated since Google has showed no signs of helping the commission tame opposition favorite channels in light of the current political atmosphere. Nonetheless, if UCC produces a court order directing Youtube to take down channels, then, the platform’s community guidelines will be skipped in respect for the law.

Huawei was officially banned in the United States by the Trump administration last week and this has proved another inch of the business war between the United States and China. As if President Donald trump’s mixups with Huawei weren’t enough, Google has also come out to call it quits with Huawei Mobile after its U.S ban.

By the look of things, the Trump administration not only banned the Sale of Huawei devices in USA, but also any close partnerships with local American companies. As per Google’s latest remarks on the ban of Huawei devices from supporting any Android releases including the latest Android Q operating system, Huawei mobile will be seeking a System to replace the most popular open source variant of all time.

Alphabet Inc’s Google has suspended business with Huawei that requires the transfer of hardware and software products except those covered by open source licenses… Huawei Technologies Co Ltd will immediately lose access to updates to the Android operating system, and the next version of its smartphones outside of China will also lose access to popular applications and services including the Google Play Store and Gmail app.
Google INC

However, Google’s break of ties with Huawei Mobile means a shortage for the Chinese company which will either develop a custom operating system or ride on the popularity streak of any other Non-US operating system. As a fact, Only unreleased Huawei devices will suffer from the Google ban as present versions like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will still support Android since they ride on older versions with the latest lying in the Android 8 caliber.

Before venturing into Smartphone manufactures, Huawei mobile had no close ties with Google’s Open Source operating system and this means the Chinese brand will now ride on creating its own system to fill its worldwide market gaps. other than that, we’re not sure whether the foldable Mate X availability dates will be procrastinated or already announced models survive the chop.

All in All, before Huawei’s first 5G enabled Smart TV comes to life, it will have to ship a fresh new custom operating system that doesn’t ride on Google’s open source projects to a point that future Smartphones will also miss sips of Gmail, Youtube, and PlayStore benefits since Android is now a historical junction for Huawei Mobile.

Though President Donald Trump’s issues with Huawei have always risen from security perspectives with China, the ban only ends in the US as the Chinese brand will continue manufacturing latest devices to ride in the competitive top tier league. So, this doesn’t mean the end of Huawei, but a junction of innovations for the camp that continues to empower innovations the same way it’s achieving developer empowerment goals in Uganda.

On Wednesday google clebrated its 19th year birthday since its launch and as the internet’s top most reliable search engine they naturally used their logo to honor the great milestone.Along with a fun logo featuring a birthday cake with “19” on top and balloons and presents, the doodle features a wheel users spin for 19 surprises highlighting key features they have introduced since launching in 1998.

The spinner includes fun stuff like playing tic-tac-toe or a Pony Express mini-game where you try to grab as many letters as possible.Co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin met a year earlier on the campus of Stanford University. Their plan was to create a service organizing the world’s information.Google takes its name from the number googol, which is a 1 followed by one hundred zeroes. More than 4.5 billion users hop on Google for their search needs.

In fact, Google is so commonplace it’s become a verb (ever ask someone to go Google something?).Of course, Google has moved well beyond its humble beginnings in Internet search. They’ve since introduced their own email service, productivity software like Google Docs, and its own mobile operating system, Android. These and alot more are great milestones for the world’s most popular search engine since with android in the play Google is definately the world’s second biggest software company after microsoft which dominated with its desktop operating system that is widely used and funny enough the most suitable platform to develop android apps, previously the microsoft founder Bill Gates as well announced that he uses android instead of windows for his smartphone though he didn’t mention which brand in particular Read more here.

Google furthermore has proved to be the world’s top driver to modern innovations with its latest being
