Initially, users could only send MTN-MTN messages, but with time, the telco also added  support for MTN-Other network messages through tailored bundles.

With MTN SMS Bundles, a subscriber currently gets to choose between daily, weekly tiers. Likely, the bundles cost from as low as UGX 200/= just like the what other telcos in the same mix offer.

How to Subscribe:

  • Check that you have sufficient airtime
  • Dial *160*2#
  • Select option 4 (SMS bundles)
  • Choose buy for self or Buy for other
  • Select your preferred offer
  • Done: Your bundle will be loaded

For On-net SMS bundles, a customer can only send the subscribed messages to fellow MTN numbers while for Offnet, a customer gets to send messages to other network numbers. Nonetheless, here is a list of the current SMS bundles and respective prices offered by MTN Uganda
