YouTube streaming bundles could soon be introduced by MTN Uganda. The telco is known to break offers first before its competitors come into play. Its trend can be seen with midweek offers where Gaga Wednesday was the Genesis for Africell’s midweek Don’t be cheated offer, and later Airtel with Freaky Friday.
Well, YouTube streaming bundles could be part of the telco’s 2020 plans. Even though no direct reveal has been made by MTN, the current indicators and free streaming bonuses for subscribers prove it all.
At the moment, when you buy a Gaga Time bundle valid from 12:00 am to 10 PM, you get 30 minutes of free YouTube streaming. The streaming bonus is currently limited to Gaga time as a spicer for the overnight data bundle that features 2GB at UGX 2,000, and 5GB at 4,000/=
If launched, we expect YouTube bundles to be priced based on timeframes as the fate is with the current bonus given to Gaga Time users. Either way, it will be a Win-Win for subscribers if YouTube bundles come in a fashion similar to the current Tidal subscription model.
This means a user could choose between daily, weekly, or monthly packages to stream and watch YouTube content without worrying about any extra data being used as the fate is with Music bundles.
Given the fact that MTN Uganda hasn’t inked any details on YouTube streaming bundles, we’re confident based on the current bonus that anytime soon, the telco will launch the exciting bundles paving a clean path for future tiers like Netflix bundles.
