Internet penetration in Uganda has for the past years found maximum support with service providers making data packages more affordable than ever before. MTN cruised on its Gaga offer last year attracting Africell to brace the league before Airtel ignited 2019 with a similar Friday offer.
Well, Airtel has now expanded its 4G LTE coverage map to accommodate all corners of Uganda. Little did we expect that 4G would expand beyond major landmarks like Cities, than Airtel’s coverage map activating each and every non-roaming area to the zone.
“With 1,632 sites & over 3,900 kilometers of fiber across Uganda covering 95.9%of the population Airtel has achieved 100% 4G LTE connectivity across the nation, making it possible for subscribers around the country to enjoy an improved experience in internet-based activities” A tweet published by the telco MD VG Somasekhar reads.
The Impact of Airtel’s countrywide 4G rollout
Now that Airtel has over 3,900 fiber optic cables running across the mighty curvy spiced region. We think it’s beyond a temptation but rather a provoke to competitors in the same square like MTN Uganda which has not had a fair tale with security and Africell which has for long been known as one of the best 4G network providers in Uganda.
As much as Airtel’s 4G map now stretches from Kisoro to Arua through Kotido and Mbale back to Kampala with drops to the Kalangala Islands, the dawn of internet prices in Uganda is set to erupt with a decrease in data bundle tags. Fact has it that if all telecoms embrace countrywide 4G LTE coverage, data packages will become more affordable as a reply to the stiff competition.
So, the new 4G internet rollout powering over 1,632 sites will ensure improved connection speeds in Uganda not only to the Red network but for all internet service providers that will soon borrow a leaf from the wide 4G rollout. henceforth, In case you’ve not swapped your Airtel Simcard to a 4G variant, Its high time you taste 4G internet speeds on the move to anywhere around Uganda.
