Last Weekend on Saturday 8th September, 22 lucky riders had a view from the top in an UberAIR for a once off on-demand stunt over the weekend from Kampala to Jinja. As much as the anticipated MTN Nyege Nyege was the focal point on the timeline, UBER Air spiced up the moods with its first ever service in Uganda railing high.

The Uber Air experience for lucky trip winners

The one day only on-demand stunt saw the lucky winners switching on their Uber app from 10am-12pm, tapping on the UberAIR banner at the bottom of their screens, followed by entering their pick-up point and confirming their UberAIR request in order to be selected as a winner.

Lucky winners of the free Uber Air Experience in Kampala

The chosen riders were then picked up at their location by an Uber driver and taken to Kajjansi landing site where they boarded their UberAIR flight to Jinja with well-known influencers, such as the popular media personality, radio and TV host, Charlie Denzel Mwiyeretsi.

“We are thrilled to be sharing this on-demand with riders in Kampala, Uber is constantly evolving and looking for innovative methods of giving our riders memories that they will treasure for years to come,” said Loic Amado, General Manager for East Africa.

Lucky Uber winners of the free Weekend trip from Kampala to Jinja

In the last few years, Uber has redefined the way people move from A-to-B and goes beyond the usual marketing activations to bring unique campaigns to riders at a touch of a button. It’s all about ‘fastest fingers first’, ensuring that the quickest riders qualify for whatever is on-demand!

Safeboda is Uganda is very own king of the motorbikes. For the past few years, the brand has made a name for its very own professional motorbike drivers nodding a stop signal on every traffic light. Nicknamed as the Uber for Motorbikes, you can barely miss views of a Safeboda bike for every 5 minutes in Kampala and the service is now live in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.

Having received a warm limelight in Uganda. Safeboda’s emergence in Kenya is something every rider must be happy to see. While Uber and Taxify boda posses steady interests in the Swahili speaking nation. Safeboda may transform its Ugandan success into a stable opportunity for a steady rule in Kenya.

We all so it coming, we all heard about the Safeboda move to Kenya. However, the Uber for Motorbikes seems to have had an expedited revolution after its Mpesa interaction to the app. Earlier this Week the company made it official and spread its expansion rumors out loud in East Africa with its orange flag flying out high to Nairobi.

The competition Safeboda will battle against in Kenya

Safeboda Kenya is the new kid on the block we must say. But, Taxify boda already spread its wings flying high in the region long before safeboda. Therefore, Safeboda Kenya will have to meet tight competition from its Ugandan 2nd in rule for the boda hailing podium. Kenyan brands like Maramoja tried their luck in the business and failed. But with Safeboda’s move to the country’s capital, It’s by no doubt that broad daylight is up to its way in the region.

Uber boda which by the way leads the 3rd place on the podium in Uganda is rumored to also launch its service in Kenya following Safeboda & Taxify boda within the region. The boda-boda sector for the past years was known for the worst behaviors and strategies on the road. However, with all these Motorbike hailing services with a hand in the sector, traveling on a Motorbike through the region seems to be the greatest order of the day.

Dial Jack is a new boda hailing option everyone is yet to see by the end of this week. Announced through their official Twitter account. The new Boda hailing service looks more like Taxify Boda with its green attire but with extremely new amazing Customer service tweaks.

Safeboda, Taxify Boda, Uber Boda should clap for a new prospective contestant ready to enter the Ugandan market competing for the Huge Kampala Slot to give riders a maximum traffic beat comfortably on a Boda Boda. Dial Jack’s launch in Uganda will make it the 4th legal Boda hailing app you can install on your phone each time you feel like taking a ride around the city.

The Dial Jack app, What you should know

Dial jack boda hailing service joins Uber boda, safeboda and Taxify boda in Uganda

Now that Dial Jack is one Green brand set to mount more pressure on the already existing apps. The service offers riders with a free Umbrella to move with offering a great solution to the heavy rains and hot sunshine on the Equator boarded city.

As safeboda previously slashed its prices with a big bag, Dial Jack promised free rides and discounts of up to 50% for the next 1 month meaning the service is here to stay.

Keeping in mind that we have 3 services on the market already, How will Dial Jack rise up to the ranks with its ultimate Boda hailing service on the line? Share with us your thoughts below.
