Safaricom’s Mpesa scoops mobile money certification with Tanzania’s Vodacom

Kenyan based company Safaricom has scooped a GSM mobile money certification as awarded in the city of Abidjan in Ivory cost. The GSM mobile certification is a global initiative that promotes excellence in mobile money provision services.

Vodacom Tanzania is one of the most prestigious East African brands that scooped a GSM award alongside Safaricom. Listed with other mobile money service providers, the GSMA chief regulatory officer commended all African achievers as he added.

While Orange Ivory coast emerged on the list. Here are some of the other competitors who won the prestigious GSMA certifications although MTN didn’t emerge on the list with its Mobile money service spreading wings

  3. Telenor Microfinance Bank Ltd. (Easypaisa Pakistan),
  4. Tigo Tanzania (Millicom Group) and
  5. Vodacom Tanzania
