CES 2020 is underway and major Technology players are continuing to unveil new products and concepts as new standards shape-in for the future. Among the exciting products that have been unveiled at the show include Samsung’s new portable T7 SSD drive

The portable drive is unlike any other ordinary external hard disks we’ve seen before since it’s an SSD build, features USB C access port for access on mobile and desktop plus a fingerprint scanner that brings to play improved data security

The T7 Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) combines a sleek compact design with transfer speeds clocking at 1,050 Mbps for read access and write at 1,000Mbps via the dedicated USB-C port accessible on Windows, Mac and Android.

According to Samsung, the T7 touch further brings to play the first built-in fingerprint scanner for its line of SSDs that already feature password protection on top of a 25-bit hardware encryption layer.

However, the T7 touch SSD comes in only 3 sizes, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB with no plans inked by Samsung if a 4TB variant should be one to expect any time in 2020

As per the rumor mill strides, the Portable T7 touch SSDs will hit the market during the second quarter of 2020 with the base T7 inbuilt SSD drives currently available in over 30 countries for as low as $168 ( Approx UGX 630,000).
