Jumia has reloaded its Tech Week campaign to excite customers with fresh offers much better than the initial Jumia Tech Week round. The previous campaign was run in March before the COVID19 Pandemic shattered Businesses with a Countrywide lockdown.

Due to the Lockdown, Jumia now seeks to maximize its catalog by bringing to play offers a customer would have preferred from a physical shop available on the Jumia App and website.

With the Jumia Tech Week, exciting offers are lined up at discounts kissing a high of 50% in Flash sales and Mega Flash Sales. Unlike the previous round, Jumia this time around may bring to play a blend of home essentials, and Tech offers.

While most retail shops dealing in Smartphones, game consoles, TV sound systems currently display a Closed notice on their entrances. A majority of them have now shifted to selling on Jumia and availing products at discounts that customers can grab in the reloaded campaign.

What to Expect from the Jumia Tech Week

Flash Sales

With Jumia Flash Sales, several products are made available with catchy discount tags valid for a period of 1hour. During this Tech Week, several Smartphones, LED Screen TVs, Smart TVs, and Sound Systems could dominate the flash sales tab.

99% Off “ Treasure Hunts”

99% Off specific products, Call it Jumia Treasure hunts. Through Treasure hunts, Jumia discounts a high-end product by up to 99%. For Instance, an iPhone 11 priced at UGX 4,000,000 can be hidden on the Jumia app for UGX 4,000 and whoever buys it first, takes it.

50% Mega FlashSales

Jumia Mega Flash Sales follow a Flash Sales like model except that they feature better discounts on top of having the best deals on popular products searched by customers. Just like Flash sales, Mega Flash sales run on a specific timeframe which in most cases ranks at 1hour.

Free Customer Vouchers

Just like previous Jumia Campaigns, the reloaded Tech week will feature free shopping vouchers awarded to customers through the Jumia App’s Spin the Wheel game.

All a user does is spin the wheel and post a screenshot of the prize won on Jumia’s social handles for a chance to win the indicated voucher or prize. More so, with the in-App puzzle game, customers complete displayed puzzles to win various products or vouchers issued by Jumia.

Well, with the reloaded Jumia Tech Week campaign is slated to run from 11th May to 23rd May 2020 with discounts of up to 50%. Then, Online shopping is now a necessity than before.

Jiji is a pan-African online shopping platform working on a customer to customer model where a buyer can sell or buy using a single account. Jiji acquired Olx in 2019 and the platform was rebranded in all countries where the OLX existed to Jiji.

Though Jiji was initially present in Nigeria, It’s rebranding move to acquire Olx granted it more exposure and more user registrations for buying and selling on the platform. However, the platform is marked as unsecure by many buyers due to their experience when shopping.

This is due to the fact that anyone can become a buyer and anyone can become a seller. But sealing off a deal safely becomes an ultimate goal any user would want to achieve. So, here are a few tips you should follow when buying on Jiji.

Safely Buying on Jiji

Know your Lingo (Know what you’re buying)

Read a seller’s description before buying

Chat with a seller before you Call

When you call a seller, ask for the product’s availability and how to meet

Don’t send money via Cashless Transfer before receiving your product

Avoid Sellers with International Numbers (They’re fraudsters)

Only accept meeting in a public place, not the seller’s shop or premises

Don’t allow a seller to dictate meeting times, choose a place you feel safe to meet

Only Pay cash on delivery for your desired product

Before meeting a seller, check their credibility, ratings and other user comments on his/her Jiji profile

To Identify scammers and fraudulent sellers on Jiji, always be sure to check for their active phone number registered on the profile. If a seller provides you a different number via Chat or asks for money to ship your product, then you’re probably dealing with a scammer.

Either way, a seller with low ratings from other buyers is not one you should buy from. But instead, look out for a seller with good reviews and the real images displayed on the product they’re selling.

If you meet a seller and get a different product from what is displayed on Jiji, then you have every right to cancel the ongoing transaction. Either way, buying on Jiji starts with you being careful from the time you signup on the platform, to the moment you search for something to buy.
