Google calls it quits with Huawei, blocks Android support for future Phones

Huawei was officially banned in the United States by the Trump administration last week and this has proved another inch of the business war between the United States and China. As if President Donald trump’s mixups with Huawei weren’t enough, Google has also come out to call it quits with Huawei Mobile after its U.S ban.

By the look of things, the Trump administration not only banned the Sale of Huawei devices in USA, but also any close partnerships with local American companies. As per Google’s latest remarks on the ban of Huawei devices from supporting any Android releases including the latest Android Q operating system, Huawei mobile will be seeking a System to replace the most popular open source variant of all time.

Alphabet Inc’s Google has suspended business with Huawei that requires the transfer of hardware and software products except those covered by open source licenses… Huawei Technologies Co Ltd will immediately lose access to updates to the Android operating system, and the next version of its smartphones outside of China will also lose access to popular applications and services including the Google Play Store and Gmail app.

However, Google’s break of ties with Huawei Mobile means a shortage for the Chinese company which will either develop a custom operating system or ride on the popularity streak of any other Non-US operating system. As a fact, Only unreleased Huawei devices will suffer from the Google ban as present versions like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will still support Android since they ride on older versions with the latest lying in the Android 8 caliber.

Before venturing into Smartphone manufactures, Huawei mobile had no close ties with Google’s Open Source operating system and this means the Chinese brand will now ride on creating its own system to fill its worldwide market gaps. other than that, we’re not sure whether the foldable Mate X availability dates will be procrastinated or already announced models survive the chop.

All in All, before Huawei’s first 5G enabled Smart TV comes to life, it will have to ship a fresh new custom operating system that doesn’t ride on Google’s open source projects to a point that future Smartphones will also miss sips of Gmail, Youtube, and PlayStore benefits since Android is now a historical junction for Huawei Mobile.

Though President Donald Trump’s issues with Huawei have always risen from security perspectives with China, the ban only ends in the US as the Chinese brand will continue manufacturing latest devices to ride in the competitive top tier league. So, this doesn’t mean the end of Huawei, but a junction of innovations for the camp that continues to empower innovations the same way it’s achieving developer empowerment goals in Uganda.
