Huawei Mate X2 is the new generation foldable smartphone set to leave its launchpad on 22nd February 2021. Confirmed by Huawei on its official Weibo handle, the launch of its next foldable smartphone succeeding the Mate X before Samsung, Xiaomi reveal their 2021 foldable offers will feature a new array of features and functionality.
Previously, the Huawei Mate X2 was rumored to launch in 2020, but due to the political atmosphere between China and the US, the company decided to extend the device launch date to 22nd February 2021. But once launched, the smartphone will have seal a new generation of foldable phones headlined by 5G support.
If compared to its predecessors, the Mate X2 is expected to fold inwards and not outwards as the case has been. More so, an array of cameras is one to note on the upcoming foldable smartphone even with fewer details so far shared by Huawei.
For now, the device launch is confirmed for 22nd February 2020, but with less information about the price and general device specifications, we just have to watch the space for possibly what Huawei has in stock. But as per its operating system grades, we don’t expect the smartphone to ship Harmony OS since the company still has interest in running non-GMS android with the Huawei App Gallery.
Nonetheless, according to Huawei’s Business Group CEO Richard Yu, the Huawei Mate X2 is full of surprises and set to change how the foldable smartphones industry runs. Additionally, Yu confirmed that he has been using the Smartphone for a while, and so, this could be a game-changing foldable smartphone that will flare new top tier standards in the industry.
