The ride hailing industry in Uganda is majorly dominated by 3 companies on both the Boda hailing side and taxi version. Talk about Taxify and listen to the company that shook things up with barely 2 years on the local scene. In October 2017, Taxify stretched out to the taxi-hailing sector before opting a shake-up to the boda hailing industry in January 2018 giving some great competition to SafeBoda in its own league.

Today, Taxify is one of the most hated ride-sharing apps in Uganda and rumor has it that it could soon shut down its operations in the country. However, close sources from Taxify refuted the rumors claiming they are still committed to serving customers better than before.

From the age of competition, Uber is still tied up to its Taxi hailing dominance as Safeboda recently tipped peak hour rates to favor drivers. So, this lives Taxify with a hungry zone for performance and service delivery which it is currently failing at with a slightly bigger margin.

Depending on the responses by Taxify customers on Twitter, no single user has spread out kind words to the service providers. For instance, many complain of boda drivers carrying 2 people on a single bike while the boiling feed is of a taxi driver who reportedly refused a disabled rider onboard.

So, with all these negative reviews and the Taxify Uganda Twitter account getting more active than before, we shall not be surprised to see the company shutting down or rebranding as the rumor mill has it.

With a mixture of instant support and rising customer dedications by Taxify, the company could either be panicking with enjoyment of its last year in Uganda or it may step up soon to address all issues making it the worst ride-sharing service in the country. Nonetheless, share with us your opinion in the comments section below.

Taxify launched came to Uganda in 2017, but guess what it is giving Uber and safe boda headache. While Safeboda was the only Boda hailing service in Uganda, Taxify has come out to launch its brand new service to outcompete Uber and Safeboda.

Well, you have seen the orange helmets and reflectors dressed up by Boda boda riders in Kampala, that’s Safe Boda. However, Taxify’s new entry to the Boda market is extremely awesome and promising. As much as Tax has always been a Taxi service, its new entry into the Boda-boda industry will highly impact the general transport sector. Nevertheless, we should just wait to see the best in Uganda.

[irp posts=”1843″ name=”Uber Uganda set to launch new Bike Hailing service Uber Boda””]

Uber Uganda recently expressed its plans to join the market. But then where do we see its Uber Boda service head since Taxify has silently launched. While no one knew what Taxify was bringing on board, Uber should definitely wait to see its popularity days fade since new services are coming in.

However, we just have to wait and see which service is better than the other. Nevertheless, it’s we the riders that really decide which service is better for us or maybe cheaper and efficient. Otherwise, Taxify is the new deal.
