Since the Genesis of smartphones, task completion for users has become very easy than ever before. Work that used to take a couple of hours is now completed in minutes if not seconds. In fact, Smartphones erased the bullish rise of Internet cafes by making life easier due to their ease of use and all-in-one accessibility tools.

However, a mobile phone alone is insufficient, instead, we need apps from the Google Playstore to speed up tasks. Different applications offer different solutions and have made many difficult tasks easy to accomplish by a tap or swipe. But among the most important Apps, keyboards, instant messaging, and grammar plagiarism checker apps serve as most haves.

Over the years checking plagiarism on mobile phones has become quite easy for users as opposed to the past, these days, you don’t need to type a full word, simply, the first few characters make the keyboard auto-complete the word, which may at times not work in your favor. Well, that’s where grammar apps come in handy to proofread your sentences without manually going line by line, and here are some of the benefits of using plagiarism checker apps on your Android Smartphone.

The Benefits of having a Plagiarism Check App on your Smartphone

Convenience

Using a mobile phone and completing tasks with your fingertips is very convenient for people rather than doing things manually. Writing down notes in a notebook and capturing pictures in a camera were done in different objects but now a smartphone can perform multiple tasks.

You can click pictures, jot down notes, keep an alarm and download unlimited applications that speed up your tasks and save your time and effort.

Mobile phones are very convenient and when it comes to writing and checking duplication you can do it while lying on your couch.

Time Saving

As discussed above, using a mobile application for plagiarism checking can save both time and effort. Imagine checking each sentence on the internet for authentication. This would cost hours and hours and you may get lost in between.

Therefore, having a plagiarism checker app would be the best thing for you to detect duplication in your content and it will cost just five minutes and you will be done with the process.

Content Comparison with several different databases.

Plagiarism detection applications compare documents to multiple databases. You don’t need to use various technologies for every database; instead, you can use just one mobile application to search all databases.

The standard version, which everyone can access, is used by the majority of teachers and students; all you have to do is choose the most trusted one and begin uploading your papers.

Plagiarism detection apps give you the confidence to submit your work without fear of being accused of plagiarism.

After you’ve checked your content for plagiarism, you can submit or publish it wherever you choose. Using a plagiarism checker to check your material will offer you the confidence to publish documents without any fear.

Helps enhance your writing skills

When the application detects duplication in your work, it provides you with a percentage indicating how similar the terminology is to that of other sources.

Because you will invariably practice minimizing the proportion of similarity received for each document you send, this will help you develop your rewriting skills and prevent future plagiarism issues. You also get to know your mistakes and enhance the quality of your write-up.

Easy to access

The nicest part about plagiarism checkers is that they are accessible via the internet and can be used by anyone at any time. It does not necessitate the installation of any software; all you need is an internet connection and your task will be completed in minutes.

Aside from that, you can get plagiarism-checking mobile apps for Android and iOS. Many plagiarism detection applications are safe to use and have an intuitive design that allows students to double-check their work whenever they choose.

Best plagiarism checker apps providing amazing results.

Prepostseo.com

Students and freelancers frequently utilize the prepostseo plagiarism checking tool because it detects content plagiarism and analyses text from thousands of websites on the internet. It generates accurate reports and is secure to use at any time. The application has an easy-to-use interface that allows students to quickly check for duplication in their content.

The plagiarism checker app gives percentage findings, making it easy for users to see how much of their work is original and how much is duplicated.

The app is also available for iOS and Android, and it can be downloaded quickly on any Android phone. When students require immediate results, using mobile apps is the most efficient approach to accomplish homework. It saves time and effort, allowing you to get more done in less time.

However, because prepostseo is free on iOS, customers on that platform can also benefit from its features. Users must first register before they can check for plagiarism and receive a report, which they can share with others. The application can be used safely because the data is not kept in the database.

Skandy

Skandy is another plagiarism detection app available for Android. It offers a user-friendly interface for writers and freelancers, as well as the ability to submit other sorts of data, such as a photograph of printed paper or any other image.

Users can upload text or pdf files, and they can also input the URL of a website to validate their content. The program also functions as an image-to-text converter, allowing you to transform an image into text. It is widely utilized by authors, and students can use it daily for their tasks.

Kavach

Kavach is also one of the plagiarism detection apps that is available on Android that scans documents, theses, publications, and other types of written materials. The software has a four-star rating and is fully free and simple to use, with no limitations or hidden expenses.

It produces findings in minutes, and the results are extremely comparable to those produced by prominent plagiarism detection services. Students can use this app to examine information before submitting it to the university.

In a nutshell, People have never faced a hard time copying content from the internet. Many people still use plagiarised information in their documents and websites, which can harm their search engine rankings. As a result, it’s critical to check for material duplication regularly.

So, having a plagiarism checker app on your smartphone ensures easy plagiarism detection. Plagiarism can be detected in emails, text messages, business documents, and proposals, and we send most of them via mobile phones. As a result, having a plagiarism mobile app might save you from sharing duplicate messages.

The Current COVID19 Pandemic has struck businesses across the world with a hard bolt. With many currently lifting Closed-Now notices, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) stores have now adopted Digital as a gateway to business continuity.

It’s through Digital that many businesses now continue to survive as Entrepreneurs also devise new paths to bridge Ideas by leveraging available models. A successful instance of an Idea born from the pandemic is Paws Uganda.

Paws 4 Uganda is an online Pet store that was founded by two budding pet enthusiasts, Mitchel Mwesiga and Warren Muzoora. The former discovered passion after acquiring a great pet breed from the latter who had enjoyed the comfort of being one of Uganda’s prominent breeders for quality bloodlines before the Pandemic period.

Influenced by the Pandemic driven lockdown, The duo of Entrepreneurs chose to turn their mutual passion for Dogs into a solution to connect Dog lovers (owners and passion would-be owners) to quality Information and services including: dog acquisition, nutrition, grooming, accessories and skills training.

With limited access to high population zones, the duo based their solution on serving Isolated customers who not only have limited reach to pet stores, but would love to acquire quality breeds of Man’s all-time best friend.

By Connecting customers (dog owners) to quality information and services remotely via Twitter and Instagram. A customer is assured of acquiring the particular breed listed by the company before delivery.

Apparently, a low tone of local providers before the lockdown used to promise particular breeds, but then, deliver a breed that later shows its true bloodline months if not years later.

But with Paws 4 Uganda, existing customer complaints and reviews on their Digital Channels help other would-be clients to know the brand’s anticipated quality gauge.

Some of the Paws Uganda Pets and Services offered on their Instagram Page

At the moment, Paws has triggered growth on their Channels with customer-customer recommendations and reviews taking a lion’ share. It’s to this that the company could soon become Uganda’s only online Pet store as inked by the founders.

The company takes orders on Twitter, and Instagram where customers submit orders by sending messages to the brand’s pages. In a similar fashion, WhatsApp is also leveraged by the company to keep communication lines with customers open at all times for instant feedback and submission of complaints.

Furthermore, depending on the demand trail, Paws 4 Uganda could soon join the eCommerce space with a custom portal for customers to easily place orders and still benefit from free delivery offers.

In a nutshell, Paws 4Uganda is one of the unique niche-specific solutions that have leveraged current business models powered by the Web to still serve customers the same way they did before the COVID19 Pandemic.

Information Communications has played a critical role in the fish against the COVID19 Pandemic worldwide. But according to Huawei’s Southern Africa President Chen Lei, the key to more progress is laying a solid foundation as he writes:

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of this year, organisations across the planet began to shift into action. But as critical as it was to react appropriately, it has also been important to proactively prepare for the next phase.

At Huawei, we are aware of the massive effect of the pandemic, as well as how seriously communities would be affected. However, we are also conscious that as well as protecting lives, we need to help lay the foundation for the next stage of society’s technological advancement – the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

I’ve been inspired by a recent YouTube video of young South African dancer Hlumelo, who has been under lockdown in his home township of Gugulethu. A member of the Zama Dance School, Hlumelo has not let the lockdown hold him back, and has continued practising his steps for the moment when he and his friends can perform together again.

Similarly, during the Chinese lockdown, members of the Shanghai ballet continued to practise – wearing facemasks – for their upcoming performance of Swan Lake. They took precautions, but remained focused on the next phase of their development.

This reminds me of a saying from a Chinese poem that “Good honing gives a sharp edge to a sword. Bitter cold adds keen fragrance to plum blossom”. It implies that preparation is essential to being effective, and that hardship can shape ultimate success. Indeed, chance favours the prepared mind.

We understand that ICT has a great role to play in terms of keeping us all connected during lockdown, quarantine and social isolation. But technology is also fundamental to economic recovery for Africa.

Now that we have spent several weeks with shuttered schools and locked-down business, our conversation is turning to how to reopen the economy. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the way to do that is not to rush back to the same busy, concentrated work and social environments we had before.

When we re-open, communities and workplaces will have to continue practicing social distancing. We will continue to rely on high-speed connectivity to bind us together. In many cases, ICT networks support the fight against the coronavirus, but also the evolution of human society itself.

During the pandemic, once Huawei had secured our people and our operations, we looked at how we could support our business partners on the African continent through our core competences in the ICT sector. We were fortunate to be able to assist with social distancing by African organisations through our technologies.

The video conferencing systems we provided in some African countries enabled information sharing domestically and experience exchange internationally between epidemic prevention experts in China and Africa.

Our remote videoconferencing systems have helped medical institutions communicate more efficiently. We have also implemented an AI-based diagnosis solution in several medical institutions. CT scan reviews can now be completed in two minutes, 80% faster, in a race with time, critical for saving lives.

Huawei will continue using our core information and communication capabilities to support Africa’s epidemic control efforts.

When the dust settles, and we begin to arrive at the much-heralded “new normal”, we will have seen the immense potential for ICT to build social cohesion.

A new business model is taking shape across sectors, one characterised by remote work, distance education, remote healthcare, online shopping and mobile money. These business models span transportation, security, finance, medicine, education and entertainment.

This new paradigm is driven by vastly greater data consumption, facilitated by the mass connectivity of 4G/5G technology.

Governments are coming to understand the need to prioritise ICT as a basic necessity. As a recent white paper noted, the Covid-19 pandemic is seeing 5G transform healthcare response mechanisms to become digital, accurate and smart.

The epidemic has brought home to policymakers the importance of ICT in national development. This is likely to accelerate the establishment of a national data centers, optical fiber networks, and communication base stations.

This kind of “big network” deployment also presents a historic opportunity for Africa to use ICT to catch up with, and overtake other nations in terms of human development and quality of life for all its citizens.

We are seeing the first signs of digital transformation not just in healthcare systems, but across entire economies, and society itself.

ICT platforms are likely to provide the foundation of Africa’s future economy. The key is to continue honing and perfecting them, expanding their use even now, so that once the lockdown ends, we can recover more quickly.

As the old poem notes, good honing does indeed give a sharp edge to a sword. Like Hlumelo and the dancers of the Shanghai ballet, we should spend this time honing our abilities. When the new dawn arrives – as it surely will – let it find us well prepared to seize the day!

The technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector in Africa is expected to show impressive growth in 2019, with transactions forecasted to exceed earlier predictions of mergers & acquisition (M&A) investments worth USD 5.9 billion in 2019, according to Baker McKenzie’s Global Transaction Forecast (Forecast) in association with Oxford Economics.

The state of investment in the TMT sector in Africa was under discussion at Baker McKenzie’s African Transactional Summit, held in Johannesburg this week. Janet MacKenzie, a partner in the Corporate/M&A Practice and Head of the TMT Industry Group at Baker McKenzie in Johannesburg said that Africa was considered to be a region of significant investment potential in the tech space.

“Increasingly, M&A deals and IPOs in the TMT sector in Africa point to the growing reliance of African consumers on technology across multiple platforms. The unabated demand for technology has caused extensive cross-sector disruption in Africa, with, for example the financial, energy, transport, retail, health and agricultural sectors all seeking opportunities to expand their tech infrastructure in order to acquire the necessary skills and innovation needed to keep up with demand,” she noted
“In 2019, fintech will likely remain the most popular tech sector for investment in Africa, with health-tech, mobility and agritech also attracting investment. Tech companies in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya are expected to secure the biggest funding deals of the year in 2019,” said MacKenzie.

MacKenzie explained, however, that the South African TMT sector faced numerous challenges, which were affecting the sector’s ability to move forward and implement high end, fourth industrial revolution (4IR) technology.

“According to the Digital in 2018 Report by We Are Social and, HootSuite, South Africa has just 54% Internet penetration and there is a lack of significant broadband services in general, and in rural areas in particular. Improving Internet access and TMT infrastructure is therefore very much a focus in South Africa at present,” MacKenzie noted.

In April this year President Ramaphosa announced the formation of a new commission on the fourth industrial revolution, with the aim of assisting the government to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the 4IR.

“This new commission is a welcome development. It has become critical for South Africa to have the correct policy and regulations in place to ensure we can effectively roll out the TMT infrastructure and services needed to implement 4IR technology. There is significant policy and regulatory work still to be done in this arena before South Africa will be on par with other countries who are much further along in the process than we are,” MacKenzie explained.

“When it comes to policy, certainty is lacking, and needed. MacKenzie noted. The failure to properly implement the regulatory framework for the rapid deployment of infrastructure has resulted in uncertainty on the terms of access, the rights of landowners and the compensation to be paid to landowners for access. A lack of uniformity in the approaches adopted by municipalities with regard to rights of way has led to costly delays in the rollout of infrastructure. All of this has culminated in an unprecedented number of access disputes being referred to our courts for resolution.

MacKenzie explained that prohibitive data costa are further delaying the implementation of affordable high end technology services, The Competition Commission in South Africa recently released a report on the cost of mobile data in South Africa in April and noted that data costs in South Africa are some of the highest in the world.

“The delay in the digital migration process and the consequent delay in the release of high demand spectrum has negatively impacted on the ability of the mobile operators’ to roll out data rich services and 5G, in particular. 5G is necessary for the implementation of 4IR technology such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and the Internet of Things. Insufficient spectrum and a lack of access to the lower band frequencies is the reason behind high data costs, the big mobile operators have said.

“If the challenges can be addressed via policy and regulatory certainty, it will provide a catalyst for further investment in TMT infrastructure and services in South Africa, which will enable the country to implement and reap the benefits of 4IR technology,” said MacKenzie.

Akash Devani, Partner at Anjarwalla & Khanna in Nairobi, Kenya noted that the TMT sector in Africa is , “vibrant with competition-leading businesses maximising economies of scale by merging.”

He said that currently, the major transactions in this sector in Africa involve acquisition of shares in TMT entities, sale of assets, the public listing of TMT entities across various securities exchange and the fundraising of TMT entities – usually through investments into the TMT entities by private equity funds and other investors.

Devani pointed out that challenges to investors in the TMT space in Africa include being required to meet local shareholding requirements in various jurisdictions. For example in Kenya, there is a requirement with respect to telecoms whereby a minimum of 20% of the share capital of the company must be held by citizens of Kenya.

“In Tanzania, the Finance Act 2016 (as amended by the Finance Act 2017) requires 25% of the shares of a Network Services or Network Facilities license holding company to be listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange while Content Services Licensees have a minimum 51% local shareholding requirement. Meanwhile in Uganda, while there are currently no legal or regulatory requirements for telecommunications operators to list on the Uganda Securities Exchange, the National Broadband Policy 2018 has proposed that the licensing framework include a requirement for all telecommunication operators in Uganda to list on the local exchange,” he said.

Devani noted that there was currently no country in Africa that allows for the dual listing of listed companies, which would make it easier for investors to list telecommunication entities in more than one jurisdiction.

A further challenge is the regulatory approval that is needed before transactions can be completed. For example, the Kenya Information and Communications (Licensing and Quality of Service) Regulations, 2010, provides that a licensee is required to notify the Communication Authority (CA) of any proposed change in ownership, control or proportion of shares held in it, at least 30 days before the change is effected.

Devani argued that making more spectrum available in certain markets would also reduce network congestion and Capex expenditure, which would allow the much-needed capital to be spent in the more underserved areas. He noted that the ICT facilities in some jurisdictions in Africa, except for a select few, remain under-developed and result in poor connectivity, quality of service and broadband penetration, amongst other challenges.

“This ultimately hinders the respective jurisdiction from enhancing to a digital economy,” he said.

Devani said that there were many investment and financing opportunities in the TMT sector in Africa, with disruption, innovation and consolidation likely to be the major deal drivers in future years.

“Kenya has seen various investments in telecommunications companies (telcos). The telco sector in Kenya had the advantage of a well-developed market for mobile money services, making it an attractive investment opportunity,” he explained.

“Telcos are merging/consolidating, and the race to provide new broadband and wireless infrastructure is intensifying, which is resulting in increased need for capital and thus an increase in investments. Investment in technology is also driving applications and innovation across all sectors. This includes investment to payment services and infrastructure,” he said.

Devani agreed that the growth of fintech was a big opportunity, “In Kenya, the MPESA mobile money transfer platform, first piloted in 2007 by Vodafone through Safaricom in Kenya, has enabled significant financial inclusion and acted as a stimulus for the establishment of other fintech businesses. These fintech businesses include mobile banking, mobile lending and savings, fundraising platforms, mobile payment systems, and insurance.”.

Mobile lending has also continued to grow on an upward trajectory in Kenya. Devani said there has been a shift from traditional lending from banks since the introduction of the interest rate cap on commercial bank lending in 2016. Mobile lending platforms such as Tala, Branch International and Fuliza which target individuals and small enterprises that require instant, short-term loans are making loans cumulatively in billions of shillings.

He explained that fibre penetration is still very low in most African countries, so huge opportunities exist to get involved in the rollout of intra-regional projects, national projects, and even international subsea infrastructure projects. The global cloud services companies are now putting Africa on their development roadmap, and committing significant investment to several African markets.

“As competition intensifies and growth slows down in Africa, consolidation efforts will begin to drive M&A transactions as smaller players exit. The African teleco sector is controlled primarily the 4 large players, MTN, Vodafone, Bharti, and France Telecom but as the region moves onto more advance networks, new license auctions/ awards can be expected. Further, as Africa transitions to digital television, spectrum availability for the telecommunication sector will increase, which will also boost investment,” Devani added

SafeBoda credit is a cashless movement that is revolutionalizing travel in the ride-hailing industry. The cashless riding option allows a rider to travel without a single coin in the pocket and reach safely without facing any mixed up brawls with the driver. By the same fashion, SafeBoda credit just got better with a 50% slash off all cashless trips taken by a customer.

With only a few weeks after Taxify bowed to rider ratings and rebranded to bolt, the orange camp reply is revolutionary by making cashless travel the number 1 priority for all riders. As a matter of fact, SafeBoda credit is just an easy to top up trick every rider can rely on to hail on a Boda in Kampala.

In 2017, the orange branded boda hailing camp used to offer a 100% bonus on credit top-ups and it’s by no doubt that this trend is slowly resurrecting from a max discount zone. If you’re a SafeBoda customer, all you have to do is replace your cash schedule with a mobile money in-app top up to hang on a 50% off all trips line.

To top up SafeBoda credit, Go to the app’s payment option and choose top up with Mobile money to approve purchase through your Airtel/MTN Mobile money line. Amazingly, the new 50% discount applies to all trips taken and the new fare is displayed before you request/pair a driver.

Although the 50% slash off all cashless trips comes at a time when the orange camp tipped drivers with a hike during on-peak hours. The new discount is applicable to only Cashless trips meaning the usual rates remain constant for cash riders with a favor to credit subscribers.

SafeBoda is a league of professional boda drivers who came up with a reckoning solution to improve safety and spur professionalism to the motorbike industry. As a matter of fact, the SafeBoda community has attracted more investors to focus on the fast rising industry and Uber, Taxify, Dial Jack and Pikime are some of the ride hailing services trying their take in the SafeBoda dominated wing.

Well, Its 5 years since SafeBoda was born from Kyebando (A Kampala suburb) and the section of boda hailing drivers celebrated the achievement during their bi-annual party that saw the Minister of Kampala commending the great work and exclusivity exhibited by the reckoning boda hailing camp.

[bs-quote quote=”I am very Suprised to see professional Boda drivers, those that adhere to laws and respect pedestrians by driving them safely around Kampala, Safeboda is very organized and I highly commend you for the great work you are doing in Kampala” style=”style-13″ align=”left” author_name=”Hon. Betty Namisango Kamya” author_job=”Minister of Kampala” author_avatar=”https://techpointmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/minister-betty-kamya-1.jpg”][/bs-quote]

According to Ricky Rampa Thompson, Safeboda was founded as a team of professional drivers who wanted riders to have a safety appeal on all trips within Kampala. The group started small with only 50 drivers in 2014 and the camp comprises of over 8,000 drivers who were all present at the bi-annual celebrations.

The SafeBoda Aims and Plans in Uganda for 2019

Safeboda is one of the most successful startups in Uganda and its by no doubt that Tugende decided to partner with this camp to make motorbikes more affordable to hailing drivers. However, Safeboda aims at growing beyond Kampala and strengthening its position by providing more professional and better services to all customers.

During the bi-annual celebrations, the 3 co-founders Maxime, Ricky Rapa, and Alastair Sussock praised their 5-year performance and inked plans to launch to more African cities after their recent rollout in Kenya. In Nairobi over 600 drivers are registered to the service in a period of less than 6 months.

SafeBoda Co-Founders L-R Maxime, Ricky Thompson, and Alastair Sussock

Given the fact that SafeBoda drivers comply with all traffic laws and continue to exhibit their professionalism by making sure customers are safe with a helmet per trip. The Minister of Kampala in return promised support to the boda hailing camp by looking into plans to create separate motorbike parking zones as the fate is with cars and also look into the costs involved to acquire a 2 Wheel permit with Government.

The Joy of being a Safeboda Driver

Unlike any other boda hailing service in Uganda, Safeboda drivers are treated to a bi-annual party each time the ride-hailing giant feels like its time to celebrate the drivers. To this, Rapa commended the drivers and promised to improve their payouts to further improve the comfortability rate of customers in return.

[bs-quote quote=”I will personally meet all drivers in all areas and listen to their complaints in order to improve support to them since we appreciate them. We are trying hard to improve their payouts, the same way we slightly increased rates for peak hours and our pledge to Gov\\\’t is to give us safe pathways even at the traffic lights where we are usually knocked down. We want to prove that we are the best in what we do and all customers appreciate us now with over 8,000 drivers currently registered with to the service” style=”style-13″ align=”center” author_name=”Ricky Rapa Thompson” author_job=”Safeboda Co-Founder” author_avatar=”https://techpointmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/safeboda-co-founder-e1548678470949.jpg”][/bs-quote]

Lucky Safeboda drivers Zziwa Francis and Musinguzi Crispus cruised away from the party with brand new TVS motorbikes won through a customer appreciation draw. Additionally, other drivers won Gas Cylinders and FICO insurance covers as complimentary tokens for another great year ahead. Hence, SafeBoda drivers will continue receiving the best benefits from the company now that evening and morning trips have slightly higher fares than day trips.

Francis Zziwa, a SafeBoda driver celebrates after winning a brand new motorbike

In a nutshell, we expect to see stiff competition between SafeBoda, UberBoda, Dial Jack and the underrated Taxify Boda in 2019. Now that the Orange branded drivers are on the hunt to dominate another colorful year, the fate of competitors in the same wing as SafeBoda lies between improving service delivery and trying to compete with the service soon achieving the 9,000 drivers mark.

Huawei has today launched the world’s first core chip specifically designed for 5G base stations dubbed Huawei TIANGANG. During the 5G launch event in Beijing that doubled up as a pre-briefing for the MWC Barcelona 2019, Huawei announced the innovative chip that will support simplified 5G networks and large-scale 5G network deployment all over the world. To date, the company has won 30 commercial 5G contracts and shipped over 25,000 5G base stations globally.

Huawei is committed to taking complexity itself and creating simplicity for its customers. To this end, the company has invested heavily and continues to innovate. Its end-to-end 5G chips support networks of all standards and all bands (C band, 3.5G, and 2.6G), helping customers access the best wireless and microwave services.

“Huawei has long been committed to investing in basic science and technology. We were the first to make breakthroughs in key technologies for large-scale 5G commercial use,” said Ryan Ding, Huawei Executive Director of the Board and Carrier BG CEO. “Huawei now has industry-leading capabilities to deliver end-to-end 5G, with simplified 5G networks and simplified operations & maintenance (O&M). We are leading the commercial rollout of 5G, and building a mature industry ecosystem.”

World’s first 5G base station core chip

At today’s event, Huawei launched the industry’s first 5G core chip, Huawei TIANGANG, with breakthroughs in integration, computing power, and spectral bandwidth. This chip is highly integrated, which means it can support large-scale integration of active power amplifiers (PAs) and passive antenna arrays into very small antennas. It also boasts super high computing capacity, with a 2.5-fold increase over previous chips. Using the latest algorithms and beamforming technology, a single chip can control up to 64 channels, which is the industry’s highest standard. This chip also supports the 200 MHz high spectral bandwidth, getting ready for future network deployment.

This chip also brings revolutionary improvements in active antenna units (AAUs), with 50% smaller, 23% lighter, and 21% less power consuming base stations. 5G base stations can be deployed in just half the time it took to install a 4G base station. These features will help address issues such as site acquisition and network deployment costs.

Simplified 5G solutions for quick, large-scale 5G deployment globally

Huawei began rolling out commercial 5G networks in 2018. It took the lead in the launch of a full range of commercial 5G products, 5G field testing and verification, and large-scale 5G commercial use. As of the end of 2018, Huawei has completed all pre-commercial testing and verification for its 5G products in China, green lighting 5G for commercial use.

On January 9, 2019, Huawei’s 5G blade base station was awarded a First Class Progress in Science and Technology Prize, in recognition of its major technological breakthroughs and a unified modular design. All base station units use the blade form factor, and different modules can be combined as needed, making 5G base station installation as simple and easy as building blocks.

“Huawei’s full-series, all-scenario simplified 5G products enable ultimate 5G performance and experiences,” said Yang Chaobin, President of Huawei 5G Network Product Line. “These products help significantly boost network deployment and O&M efficiency, and make 5G deployment easier than 4G.”

AI for autonomous driving networks

Today, Huawei also launched the world’s first data center switch with an AI brain. Boasting industry-leading performance, this switch enables zero Ethernet packet loss and end-to-end latency of less than 10 milliseconds. It consumes less than 8W of power while delivering more computing capacity than 25 mainstream two-way CPU servers combined.

Huawei has also introduced its full-stack, all-scenario AI technologies to enable an autonomous driving network, and developed the SoftCOM AI solution to help operators maximize energy efficiency, network performance, O&M efficiency, and user experiences.

During the event, Richard Yu, Huawei Executive Director of the Board and Consumer BG CEO, also announced the world’s fastest 5G multi-mode device chip and commercial devices.

MWC 2019 runs from February 25 to 28 in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei is showcasing its products and solutions at booth 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1, booth 3I30 in Hall 3, the Innovation City zone in Hall 4, and booth 7C21 and 7C31 in Hall 7.
