macOS Big Sur is the latest Apple Operating system release designed for computers. Replacing macOS Catalina 10.15, Big Sur is expected to launch with a pile of fresh features better than any macOS release ever developed.

Can Your MacBook run macOS Big Sur
Well, If your MacBook is not a 2013,2014,2015,2016,2017,2018,2019,2020 or latest model, then it can’t run Big Sur. This is due to the operating system’s minimum hardware requirements that are dedicated to only newer models.
