The Itel A60 Smartphone is officially off the launch pad as a result of a partnership between Itel Mobile Uganda and MTN Uganda. It succeeds the Itel A58 and brings to play 4G connectivity on a budget with extended battery life to offer customers more value for money.

Packing multiple improvements to its launch tag, the Itel A60 is an entry-level smartphone that offers extended features better than any other device in the same price range. Comparable devices including the MTN Kabode Supa and the Airtel 4G Smartphone don’t beat the new Itel A60 level making it a great device for low-end customers.

By standard, Itel Mobile confirmed at the launch that the A60 is the first 4G-powered smartphone in the A-series range. This means, 3G connectivity is no longer the limit, and faster internet speeds are the new target to allow customers use most available features on the device.

Unlike all previous Itel A series devices like the A56 above, the Itel A60 offers a whole different design as revealed at the launch

By specs, the Itel A60 sports a dual rear camera design with improved image quality as inked at the launch. Storage-wise, 32GB ROM + 2GB RAM is a standard that can deliver a smooth user experience when using the device. However, a big 5000mAh battery sums up the entry-level mark by delivering more uptime on the Itel A60 as revealed at the launch.

To sweeten the deal, upon buying the Itel A60, you get free MTN data in Uganda for the first 3 months. A total of 9GB is gifted to your device instantly as a token of thanks to utilize most features on the phone.

Currently, you can buy the Itel A60 at all MTN Service centers and over 230 dealer shops across Uganda. Also, you get the usual 12 + 1 Months after sales service warranty that lets you deliver your device to any Carlcare service center for free repairs or exchanges during the warranty period.

As a result of the partnership between Itel Mobile and MTN Uganda to launch the Itel A60, affordable and high-quality smartphones will be easily accessible in the near future as the age of AI and ChatGPT ignites a connected future.

Itel A58 is the latest Affordable series release with promising upgrades to rule it as one of the most affordable smartphones one can buy in 2022. Succeeding the Itel A56, the Itel A58 ships an upgraded mobile operating system, improved hardware and an increase in the display grade as inked Itel Mobile Uganda on the launch day.

At the launch day, Henry Kijjo, the assistant brand manager noted that Itel Mobile is closely monitoring customer needs, and with the A58, multiple improvements were made to excite users with a fresh release. Well, we received the Itel A58 a few weeks back, and are the contents housed by the device box.

Itel A58 Box Contents

A single Itel A58 device

Charging brick

Transparent phone case

Pair of Earphones

Micro USB charger

Screen protector

By impressions, the Itel A58 sports has a silent killer design with a bigger screen size, dual rear cameras giving the device an excellent layout much better than its predecessors. On boot up, a fresh Itel mobile OS loads up Android 11 as the base operating system with improved security features headlined by Face Unlock aside the default pattern and password methods.

However, on the downside, the device performance is not that very good given the fact that its gifted with 1GB RAM, but if you are a low resource smartphone user, then, it can execute all required functions at average speeds.

On a high note, a price tag of UGX 180,000 is way affordable for a smartphone proving Itel Mobile’s partnership with MTN Uganda as one designed to give every user a chance to own a multiple camera smartphone. As per the specifications sheet listed in our article here, we share full perfomance and feature details on why this affordable series release is one to buy at a low budget.

After 2 years in COVID19 ignited lockdowns, itel Uganda has ignited a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) season with donations to communities that were most affected in the period. Starting first with donations to schools in Jinja, and Mbarara districts in Uganda, itel Uganda is on a trajectory to appreciate its customers by giving back to the community.

Early January marked a fresh start for school-going children across Uganda, many have been in the cold with little or no education due to mobile internet, and device limitations. Now, with the reopening itel Uganda is embarking on a journey to donated much-needed educational and sanitary materials at select schools in the country.

Through the ” Love Always on ” CSR initiative, itel Uganda included mobile libraries, textbooks, storybooks, school bags, sanitizers, facemasks, and other educational materials in its donation to children of Jinja Preparatory School, and St. Boniface Primary School in Mbarara.

Over the years, the brand has donated to different communities and schools with a strong belief that children are the future, treating them with love and care can guarantee bright careers ahead of their lives. Hence, it’s not by surprise that itel chose to donate brand new items to spice up children learning efforts.

According to the brand manager of itel Uganda, Mr. Samuel Song, the brand plans to donate more educational items and library materials to several schools around the country, because they believe rewarding back to the community is what a good brand should always do.

‘We have always had a soft spot for children at itel. And with our Love Always On CSR initiative, we are especially dedicated to creating opportunities for them and supporting their dreams.’
Said Samuel Song, the itel Uganda Brand Manager

Accompanying the brand manager, the itel Uganda assistant brand manager Mr. Henry Kijjo, the Below the Line (BTL) marketing manager Mr. Fahad Kiganda inked the CSR campaign as one designed to give back to the community that relies on the brand’s high-quality mobile, and recently joined-in home devices.

In return, teachers were filled with smiles and could not believe the level of care and love shared to them by itel Uganda. More so, the brand is expected to extend it’s CSR campaign to more schools which further excited the Teachers in both visited Jinja, and Mbarara schools.

‘This is beyond what we expected. For itel to do something like this for two schools in two days, we are thankful.’
Remarked some of the School Teachers.

For now, itel Uganda has raised a new standard on how brands should be, and what they can do for communities in Uganda. With 2022 the campaign executed in the first 2022 quarter, the brand promises plenty more from its CSR arm to support societies in Uganda.

It’s 2021 and Itel Mobile has unveiled its latest A-Series release of the year, the Itel A37, which is currently available in all its active markets across the African continent. Unlike previous A-Series releases, the Itel A37 specifications tease a high-grade texture with a new rear camera setup, build and design, but with somewhat the same storage dynamics we are used to.

Straight out the box, the Itel A37 specifications sheet notes a 5.7 Inch screen pimped with a waterdrop display notch and Android 10 Go Edition as key features that make it market-ready. By display, the Itel A37 sports a 5.7 Inch HD+ waterdrop screen with an 84.6% screen to body ratio and a 1520*720 pixels resolution.

To the rear, the Itel A37 hosts a dual camera setup with 5MP + 0.3MP lenses boosted with a dual-LED flashlight. By this standard, the front selfie camera consists of a single 5MP lens situated under the waterdrop notch with a dual front LED flashlight just above.

However, with memory as a key requirement for the current generation of smartphones, the Itel A37 equips 1GB RAM and 16GB of Internal storage guided by a quad-core 1.6Ghz processor. Also, the battery standard is a 3020mAh capacity juiced by a 5W micro USB charging port.

With a low-range texture, the Itel A37 specifications sheet further reveals face unlock as a key feature, 2G/3G network support, and a friendly price tag attached to its availability. Nonetheless, here is the full Itel A37 specifications sheet.

Itel A37 Specifications

Launched

March 2021

Processor

SC7731E Quad-core 1.6GHz

Connectivity

Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot
Bluetooth
Micro-USB

Operating System

Android 10 GO Edition

Network

2G: 900/1800 MHZ
3G: 900/2100 MHZ

Display

5.7-inch HD+ Waterdrop Full Screen
84.6% Screen to body ratio
1520×720 resolution

Main Camera

Dual Setup:
5MP + 0.3MP Camera

Selfie Camera

2MP camera

Memory

1GB RAM

Storage

16GB

Battery

3020mAh in-built battery
5W charging

Available Colors

Dark Blue, Light Purple, Gradient Green

Other Features

Face Unlock

Price

UGX 240,000, KES 6,260, NGN 28,000

ITEL A37 Specs

Itel A37 Price in Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria

The Itel A37 price in Uganda is not the same as that in Kenya nor Nigeria. But based on the overall African economy structure, the smartphone price does not change by much in all 3 countries, and by this standard, import taxes could somehow hike the overall retail price tag. But with all factors intact, you can buy an A37 online on websites like Jumia, Kilimall, Price in Kenya, among others with a respective price tag per country.

Itel S16 is the latest S(selfie)–series entrant that has been launched on the African market. At the moment, Itel Mobile has launched the S16 in Nigeria, and sighting a Mid-October timeframe to spread the Smartphone to other regions.

Succeeding the Itel S15 which came out late last year, Itel S16 brings to play upgraded features headlined by a new notch style––a punch-hole display notch. By standard, this makes the S16 the 2nd ever S-series release with not just a notch, but multi-camera support.

A triple rear camera setup is shipped by the Itel S16, of the 3 Sensors, a 13MP main snapper, a 2MP sensor, and a depth sensor are capable of shooting in low light conditions with an adjustable focal aperture of f1.8.

Teasing the front under a punch hole notch, a lone 8MP Selfie Camera is powered by on-screen brighteness capable of beaming right to your face for well-exposed selfies.

Much more like a recap, the device sports a 6.6 Inch Screen, this is bigger than any of its predecessors, but comparable to sister series releases like the Itel P36 designed to deliver wide display in-app actions like Gaming.

Supporting an HD+ standard with a resolution of 720*1600 pixels, the Itel S16 display is one to watch. Internally, the Smartphone equips a quad-core MediaTek 1.3Ghz processor hosting Android 10 (Go edition) as the base supported operating system.

Furthermore, 16GB Internal memory routes the device’s storage needs with an upgradable slot by up to 32GB for the base S16, then 32GB expandable by 128GB for the S16 Pro and PRO LTE.

The Itel S16 Rear Camera Setup

Likely, 1GB RAM delivers the Smartphone’s best perfomance speeds for the base S16, then 2GB RAM for the S16 Pro and PRO LTE as listed on the specifications sheet.

Itel S16 Specifications

Operating System

Android 10 (Go Edition)

Processor

MediaTek SC7731E Quad-core 1.3GHz Chipset

Network

Dual Nano-SIM: GSM / HSPA+ (2G/3G)

Display

6.5-inch (720 x 1600 pixels) HD+ display w/ punch hole notch

Rear Camera

Tripple Setup (13MP + 2MP + Depth sensor) w/ quad LED flash

Front Camera

8MP w/ AI Selfie 2.0

Storage

16GB expandable up to 32GB

RAM

1 GB RAM

Battery

4000mAh

Extras

Fingerprint Scanner, Face Unlock

Available Colors

Ice Crystal Blue,Cosmic Shine,Dazzle Black

ITEL S16 Specs

Itel S16 Pro/ Pro LTE Specs

Operating System

Android 10 (Go Edition)

Processor

MediaTek SC7731E Quad-core 1.3GHz Chipset

Network

Dual Nano-SIM: GSM / HSPA / LTE (2G/3G/4G)

Display

6.5-inch (720 x 1600 pixels) HD+ display w/ waterdrop notch

Rear Camera

Dual Setup (13MP + 2MP + Depth sensor) w/ quad LED flash

Front Camera

8MP w/ AI Selfie 2.0

Storage

32GB expandable up to 128GB

RAM

2 GB RAM

Battery

4000mAh

Extras

Fingerprint Scanner, Face Unlock

Available Colors

Ice Crystal Blue,Cosmic Shine,Dazzle Black

Itel S16 Pro, S16 PRO LTE Specs

Itel S16 Price and Availability in Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya

Itel S16 comes in 3 variants, a base model that is expected to be cheaper than the rest of the duo, the S16 Pro, and S16 PRO LTE (4G enabled). As listed, the major difference between the releases is RAM, Storage, and 4G network support.

By price, all 3 Smartphones cost differently with the base S16 costing lower than the rest of the pack. As a premium flagship in the lane, the S16 PRO LTE is slightly expensive than the rest with 4G as its main pricing feature. Nonetheless, here is the estimated pricing structure.

Itel S16 Price in Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya

Itel TVs are coming soon, rumour has it that Itel mobile is officially into accessories and home entertainment products. While the brand is doing well with a lion’s share in the entry-level Smartphones market, It is now testing the depth of the TVs market in Uganda

Popularly, Itel Mobile produces multiple classes for its products, this is seen with its Smartphones. The brand has 3-ranges, A (Basic Affordable), P (Battery-centric), and S (selfie-centric) series.

Identically, Itel TVs will have multiple series, but contrary to Smartphone classes, the TVs have 4 series, S series for Digital TVs, A for Analog Tvs, I for borderless Smart TVs, and D series for Smart 4K Curved TVs.

By design, A Series will be the most affordable TVs in close range with S series, 720p HD, and 1080p Full-HD as the maximum display standards.

For I and D Series, 4K ultra high definition is the default display quality spiced up with Smart TV functionality, and Itel’s Custom OS9.0 firmware running on an Android for TV Operating system.

How Much Itel TVs may cost in Uganda

At the moment, Itel Mobile has not confirmed its upcoming TV pricing range. But when we reached out to trusted sources at Itel, they confirmed that the upcoming TVs may be priced based on the current market dynamics.

This means, Itel TVs will be priced based on what competitors’ offering the same display types, and TV standards offer. Predictively, we expect the brand’ S and A series 32Inch TVs to be priced somewhere between UGX 450,000 – UGX 550,000 which is the price range for most competitor models.

Specs and Availability

According to our trusted Itel Mobile Uganda sources, Itel Tvs will be available in Uganda by 2021. In relation to the brand’s latest quality accessories rollout, the brand TVs are built with customer quality and affordability in-mind.

As per the Specifications sheet, most releases will be Smart TVs on top of having DVB T2 Free to air compatibility. Uniquely, Itel Smartphones will be able to cast content through a new I-Cast App (Itel’s version of Chromecast) among other great features.
